Hotel du Vin front-runner in bidding for One Devonshire Gardens

HOTEL du Vin, the English boutique hotel chain, has emerged as the favourite to buy Glasgow hotel One Devonshire Gardens, a favourite haunt of visiting celebrities.

The deadline for formal offers for the hotel in the city's West End closed on Friday lunchtime and up to eight hoteliers have shown interest in buying the property.

Apart from Hotel du Vin, those believed to have tabled bids include Ayrshire-based chain Costley & Costley, at least two Russian companies and a Middle East-based hotelier.
