Elektromir fuels S&N 'greenmail' speculation

REBEL shareholders attempting to disrupt the restructuring of
Scottish & Newcastle's Russian business did not even vote at the
controversial special general meeting to approve the deal.
Legal sources have claimed Elektromir, the rebel group, bought its
holding of 50 shares after the restructuring deal had been announced
and the shares were not registered in time to vote at the meeting on
July 7.
The revelation adds weight to suggestions that the Elektromir case
is part of a "greenmail" campaign, a form of corporate blackmail
designed to force S&N and its joint venture partner Carlsberg to ...
