Police say sabotaged parachute caused sky-diver's death fall from 13,000ft

A SKY-DIVER plummeted 13,000ft to his death after his parachute was sabotaged, police revealed yesterday.

Stephen Paul Hilder, 20, died when his parachute failed to open as he took part in a jump at Britain's biggest sky-diving centre on Friday.

Yesterday police said the parachute had been tampered with and they were treating Hilder's death as suspicious.

Hilder, an officer cadet at the defence academy at Shrivenham, Wiltshire, had been taking part in a jump at the Hibaldstow Airfield near Brigg, Lincolnshire. The experienced sky-diver, whose family are from the Hereford area, had completed ...
