Lifelong talent out on a limb

CHRISTOPHER Bruce has spent a lifetime dancing and choreographing,
then running one of Britain's most prestigious dance companies. "And
it was all achieved on one leg," he says with an ironic smile. For
the outgoing artistic director of the Rambert Dance Company is
slightly lame - the result of childhood polio.
"I've done everything with only one really good leg," he says.
Happily, it has not been to the sound of one hand clapping, for Bruce
is one of British dance's greatest success stories.
