Prestwick engineering jobs to help Ayrshire take flight
|
SPECULATION is mounting that Ayrshire will receive a welcome boost
this week when Ryanair announces that it is bringing a new
maintenance and repair hub to Prestwick International Aerospace Park,
creating 200 engineering jobs.
If the deal comes together, it will be a victory for Scottish
Enterprise Ayrshire chief executive Evelyn McCann, who has been at
the forefront of creating jobs that build on existing aerospace
skills in Ayrshire.
The 34-hectare greenfield site will accommodate 73,000 sq m of new
buildings within a high-quality landscaped setting.
