5m pounds photography museum comes into focus

PLANS to turn the old Royal High School in Edinburgh into a 5m
pounds national museum of photography have been backed by the city's
leaders.
In what amounts to the greatest boost to the project so far,
Edinburgh City Council has agreed to allow the Category A listed
building, once earmarked as the home of the Scottish parliament, to
be used as a showcase for the country's finest photographers.
The action committee for the Scottish National Photography Centre,
whose eight-month campaign to secure the building has been supported
by Sir Sean Connery, will now conduct a feasibility study.
