SPANNING the period 1880-1939, Hand, Heart And Soul, at the City
Art Centre until September 23, is the first major exhibition to
explore the Arts and Crafts Movement in Scotland and one that offers
a new insight into art and culture a century ago through more than
300 items of jewellery, metalwork, furniture, ceramics, glass,
textiles and architectural designs.
It reveals that the story of the Arts and Crafts movement in
Scotland is one of friendships, families and networks of art workers,
architects and designer-craftsmen and women all committed to the
restoration of beauty to daily life. ...
