Call to speed up progress on crossing after OAP run over

RESIDENTS have renewed calls for a long-delayed pedestrian
crossing after a pensioner was knocked down on a busy road.
The elderly woman was treated by paramedics after she was hit
while crossing Colinton Road, near the Tesco Express store.
Now community leaders are demanding a crossing is installed, more
than two years after it was promised. The crossing was supposed to be
built as part of an agreement under which 170 flats were built on
part of sports fields at nearby Meggetland.
Gordon Buchan, the councillor for Dalry and Fountainbridge, said
