Heng Mon is 18 years old, but she has never been to school.
Eight years ago, she began working as a "porter" carrying supplies
for Cambodia's communist Khmer Rouge guerrillas.
Until earlier this month, Heng Mon made the arduous four-day trek
repeatedly, carrying on her back ammunition, rice and other supplies
used by Khmer Rouge fighters against Vietnam's occupation army inside
Cambodia.
She would drop the supplies at designated points in the forested
area just north of Siem Reap, a town in northwest Cambodia, and
