Heng Mon is 18 years old, but she has never been to school. Eight years ago, she began working as a "porter" carrying supplies for Cambodia's communist Khmer Rouge guerrillas.

Until earlier this month, Heng Mon made the arduous four-day trek repeatedly, carrying on her back ammunition, rice and other supplies used by Khmer Rouge fighters against Vietnam's occupation army inside Cambodia.
