Festivals guru will get by with a Liddell help from her friends

A FORMER Fringe administrator and director of the Edinburgh
International Book Festival is to lead the efforts to fend off
challenges to the Capital's cultural showpieces.
Faith Liddell, one of Scotland's leading arts experts, was
confirmed today as the first head of the Edinburgh Festivals.
Among her key tasks will be to secure more backing for the
festivals from the likes of the Scottish Executive, the city council
and VisitScotland.
Ms Liddell will also be expected to raise the profile of
Edinburgh's festivals around the world, woo potential sponsors for
major initiatives and lobby for ...
