A LANDMARK Leith school building is next week to begin a
transformation into a complex of affordable housing and a community
centre.
Work is set to start at the former Dr Bell's school in Great
Junction Street following the award of a GBP 1.5 million building
contract.
The conversion of the 19th century school will include a group of
13 affordable flats on the upper floors, offering one and two-
bedroom apartments within the original school building.
And a children and families' centre to provide support to families
with young children is to be established at ground floor level.
