Melrose strikes it rich as profits rise 174 per cent
|
MELROSE Resources, the Edinburgh-based oil and gas explorer, today
unveiled a massive 174 per cent rise in after-tax profit, in what the
company described as a "watershed" year.
The firm, which has exploration interests in Bulgaria, Egypt and
the United States, said profit rose to GBP 7.7 million on turnover
that increased by 341 per cent to GBP 30.7m.
On a pre-tax basis, income was GBP 10.35m, from just GBP 309,000
in the previous year, while at the operating level, profit was up
1059 per cent to GBP 14.1m.
