THE fact that there are only 67 shopping days to Christmas will either fill you with dread or send you into a delirium of excitement. If the latter, then you will not need to know how many shopping days there are - every day is a shopping day for you, and you probably started months ago.

But there are those for whom the whole 'Christmas thing' is something into which they are reluctantly drawn. If buying the right present is something that sends you into apoplexies of anxiety, then New York-based professor of anthropology Valentine Winsey has some short cut hints.
