Deputy Trade Representative Smith To Form D.C. Consulting Firm

One of the nation's toughest and best-known trade negotiators, Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Michael B. Smith, will leave the government Monday to establish a consulting firm, U.S. Trade Representative Clayton K. Yeutter said yesterday.

"Mike Smith's departure is a tremendous loss, not only to the U.S. government but to the international trade community as a whole," Yeutter said.
