Curtailing of Stealth Bomber Urged

The Air Force's new Stealth bomber threatens to be so costly and so provocative to the Soviets that it should be limited to the construction of a few experimental prototypes rather than be mass-produced as planned, the Federation of American Scientists said yesterday.

The federation, composed of 5,000 engineers and scientists seeking an end to the nuclear arms race, said "it is parodoxical" that the United States would build a bomber to find and destroy mobile missiles "just at the moment" the Soviets seem to agree with many scientists in the United States that such mobile weapons make it ...
