A TEENAGER died suddenly at his Midlothian home just hours after enjoying a Boxing Day night out with friends.

Seventeen-year-old James Chalmers, who is understood to have had a heart condition, died in the early hours of December 27 after spending the night with pals in his home town of Penicuik.

He came home to his parents' house at Carlops Avenue, in the Cuiken area, late on Boxing Day night complaining of feeling ill and went to bed.

His mum and dad went into his bedroom to check on him later, and found him unconscious.

James was rushed to the new Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance ...
