A GANG smuggling GBP 250 million worth of cocaine across the Atlantic was left stunned when navy ships and helicopters suddenly converged on them in the middle of the Ocean, a Royal Navy commander revealed today.

The smugglers were carrying more than three-and-a-half tonnes of cocaine in a former Second World War motor torpedo boat when they were stopped. A fifth of the record haul is thought to have been destined for the UK.
