Duddingston off to a flyer in defence of Summer League

DUDDINGSTON got their defence of the Applecross Edinburgh Summer
Golf League title off to a flying start with a whitewash win over
Merchants.
Missing some key players, notably stalwart John Archibald, who is
recovering from a broken ankle, Merchants were up against it as the
title holders made the most of home advantage in their opening
fixture of the new campaign.
John Shepherd, the club champion, led by example as he beat Brian
Erskine, a former Lothians Champion of Champions winner, by 2 and 1
in the top match.
And it was one-way traffic as further points were delivered by
