Adam's designs go through roof

PLANS by famous architect Robert Adam for one of Edinburgh's historic buildings have been sold at auction for more than eight times their estimated value.

Two designs for finishing the Dome Room at the city's Register Office on North Bridge raised 43,200 pounds at an auction at Sotheby's in London, compared to an estimate of between GBP 5000 and GBP 8000.
