Wood Group strikes it rich as profits surge
|
WOOD Group, the Aberdeen-based oil and gas services company, has
posted a 36 per cent surge in full-year profits and said it is well
positioned to continue its success despite fears of a war in the
Gulf.
The firm, posting its first set of annual results since floating
on the London Stock Exchange last year, said pre-tax profits in the
year to the end of December had risen from 53 million pounds to GBP
72.1m, broadly in line with market expectations.
Turnover also increased, rising 14 per cent to just under GBP 1.1
billion. The group's chairman and chief executive, Sir Ian Wood, said
