Private Terms, the Maryland-based colt who burst into national prominence earlier this year, is for sale and will not run in Sunday's $750,000 Budweiser International, sources close to owner Stuart Janney III said yesterday.

According to sources, Janney is looking to sell the colt to avert a prohibitive tax burden in light of assuming Locust Hill Farm from his recently deceased father, Stuart Janney Jr., whose dynamic breeding operation produced Private Terms and, a decade earlier, the champion filly Ruffian. Private Terms has earned $984,177, winning nine of 13 career races.
