Independents take smaller firms closer to the audit
|
FOLLOWING the furore surrounding disgraced auditor Andersen and
the collapse of its tied legal network, it will come as no surprise
that Scottish lawyers are increasingly deciding to abandon large
firms to go it alone as independent consultants.
But small practices, run by experienced lawyers, can not only
escape being tarred with the same brush as Andersen, they can offer a
better value service, according to Douglas Black, who now runs his
own Blackharrow Business Partnership.
