Family of city climber tell of grief

THE family of a former Edinburgh climber who died in a fall in the
French Alps today spoke of their grief.
Dr Robin Cooper, 57, who had been living in London, was one of two
Scottish climbers who were on their way to the summit of 12,500ft Les
Courtes, in the Mont Blanc range, when one of them slipped, dragging
the other with him.
Dr Cooper's companion, Michael Johnston, 51, originally from
Aberdeenshire, also died .
In a statement released from their London home today, Dr Cooper's
family spoke of their devastation.
"Dr Robin Cooper and his companion were both members of the Alpine
