U.S. Now Urges Greater Use Of World Court

The Reagan administration, which downgraded U.S. participation in the World Court three years ago, recently proposed that the United States and Soviet Union use it to a greater extent to settle legal disputes, the State Department said yesterday.

Department spokeswoman Phyllis E. Oakley said the U.S. proposal was made to the Soviet Union this summer and the two sides are planning to "pursue their discussion" on the subject.
