A CITY climber narrowly escaped death on the world's third highest
mountain after his companion was killed in an avalanche.
Stuart Findlay, from Edinburgh, was descending 28,169 foot
mountain Kanchenjunga in the Himalayas when his partner Chris
Grasswick, 39, was swept away.
Mr Grasswick, from Hong Kong, had reached the summit of the 8,586
metre (28,169 ft) Kanchenjunga on Friday, the Nepalese Tourism
Ministry said.
