THE BBC's latest blockbuster costume drama featuring a host of celebrities is to be filmed in Edinburgh.

Hollywood star Greta Scacchi will be in Edinburgh during the next two weeks, along with fellow stars Hugh Bonneville, of Notting Hill fame, and actress Celia Imrie to film an adaptation of George Eliot's acclaimed novel Daniel Deronda.

It is understood that the narrow streets and tall, atmospheric buildings of the Old Town were the primary attraction behind the BBC's decision to use Edinburgh as a backdrop for its three-part adaptation of Eliot's last, and arguably best, novel, which ...
