Queensberry: Party's star rises as Lib Dems go for solo success
|
OPPONENTS accused them of a sell-out and observers warned they
would lose their electoral identity.
But three years after Jim Wallace took his Liberal Democrats into
coalition with Labour in the Scottish Executive, the party is showing
its best opinion poll rating for 15 years.
And as delegates gather in Perth tomorrow for the party's spring
conference, the Lib Dems are expecting to win extra seats at next
year's Scottish Parliament elections.
There are still jibes about "ministerial Mondeos", but the
evidence of last year's General Election suggests they have managed
to preserve their own ...
