Spar sets up shop in Woolworth

WOOLWORTH, one of the country's oldest and best-known retailers, has signed a deal with Spar to open a chain of food outlets in its stores.

The company, which already sells clothes, sweets, music, videos and toys, is keen to break in to the convenience sector to lure customers from rivals Tesco Metro and Sainsbury's Central.
