Soviet Union Stuns U.S. in Basketball, 82-76

This time they didn't need to replay the final three seconds. There was no controversy. The U.S. men's basketball team can't claim for one second it was cheated in any way, in any form.

The Soviet Union, led by Arvidas Sabonis, beat the Americans in Olympic basketball Wednesday and beat them fair and square. The Soviets beat the great John Thompson defense, beat the great David Robinson, beat the great Danny Manning, beat the thought-to-be invincible United States and its superior basketball program.
