We have two cats. One goes mad over her catnip toy while the other one ignores it completely. Is this normal behavior? I thought all cats liked catnip.

Only about 67 percent of cats react to catnip; the others ignore it completely. A cat's response to catnip is controlled by an inherited gene. If the cat does not have the gene, it will not respond.
