PRESTON A COASTAL FINALIST

Lewis Preston has had an eventful month.
He watched his boss briefly leave for the Orlando Magic. He shook
hands with President Bush at the White House.
And now he is in the running for his first head-coaching job.
Coastal Carolina announced Wednesday that Preston, a Franklin
County High School and VMI graduate, is one of five finalists for its
men's basketball coaching vacancy. Preston, who as an assistant coach
helped Florida win the NCAA tournament this year, will interview at
the Big South school next week.
