Roanoke celebrates its first 125 years today with a parade and
visiting dignitaries and displays of local history.
The city will bask in its past, but that led us to wonder: What
about the future?
We asked residents and business owners what they think -- and hope
-- the next 25 years hold for Roanoke. They talked about the
importance of keeping young people here, of embracing immigrant
populations, of turning Roanoke into a cultural mecca.
