Edwin Bennett, 94, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Huddleston, a son of the late Richard Alfred Bennett, MD and Gertrude West Bennett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wingfield Bennett. He was a graduate of Bedford High School and attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was commissioned in Bedford Company A of the U. S. Army Reserves and commanded the CCC camp at Natural Bridge and supervised a number of other CCC camps in Virginia. He served in World War II in the U. S. Army in Counter Intelligence in the 12th Corps. ...
