Bowling is a complicated sport. Sure, anyone can do it. But to do it well, that's a different story.

Across the New River and Roanoke valleys, hundreds of bowlers are scoring 220 and higher -- a perfect game is 300 -- and some think that's OK. Average, they say.

But if you change lane conditions and bowling balls, your score will likely fluctuate by 20 points or more. And that's when the confusion begins.
