George Frederick Gaerttner III, 75, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Martha Trueheart Poston Gaerttner. Born March 31, 1931 in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a son of the late Rev. George Frederick Gaerttner, Jr. and the late Toy Heberger Gaerttner. He was a US Marine Corps Korean War Veteran and was a retired electronics engineer with Babcock and Wilcox. Before George's illness he had attended Judith Creek Baptist Church.
