'NACHO LIBRE' A ZANY ESCAPE

The people who brought you "Napoleon Dynamite" now bring you
"Nacho Libre," an agreeably nutty comedy that revels in quirkiness.
Surprise, surprise.
Director Jared Hess, who co-wrote with his wife, takes elements
from "Rocky," "Shane" and a bunch of other movies and whips them into
a comedy that's partly slapstick, partly surreal, occasionally
scatological, largely ridiculous and somehow engaging. Though the
humor misses as much as it hits, there are some kneeslappers and the
mood is unrelentingly zany.
Jack Black, in top form, plays Ignacio, a cook for a poor Mexican
