TOWN COUNCIL TO CONSIDER PUBLIC HEARING PROCESS

BLACKSBURG -- How much resident comment is too much?

That's the question Blacksburg Town Council will soon take up when it appoints a task force to look at its public hearing process and system of 18 advisory committees.

The issue came to a head after last week's Environmental Quality and Land Use Committee meeting. The committee studies the effects of special use permit requests and rezonings, and makes recommendations to the Planning Commission, as do several other such appointed committees.
