DEFAMATION ALLEGATIONS LEVELED AT YELLOW BOOK

Yellow Book USA, which publishes yellow page directories across the country and has just begun to target the Roanoke market, is accused of false advertising and defamation in a federal lawsuit filed this week by attorneys for a competing publication.

The lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Charlottesville and seeks at least $5.2 million in damages, claims that advertising representatives for Yellow Book provided false information about DataNational Inc. to potential advertisers in Virginia, thus causing them to lose substantial advertising revenue.
