Arthur O. (Archie) Benson, 84, of Roanoke, passed away on
Thursday, July 22, 2004. He was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Bush
Benson. Having been a welder during World War II at the Newport News
Ship Building and Dry Dock Co., he retired from Piedmont Foundry. A
devoted member of Hollins Road Baptist Church, he read his Bible
through several times. Many favorite times were spent down in his
shop working with wood. A loving family man with a wonderful sense of
humor, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Noah
Perry; three sons, Jack W. Benson and his wife, Sharon, Douglas ...
