Danny Ferry was released from the U.S. Olympic basketball team
yesterday because of a knee injury suffered a week ago in a pickup
game.
Ferry, the DeMatha High alumnus who has helped Duke reach the
Final Four twice in his three seasons, said he still is wearing a
brace on his injured right knee. He said he took a strength test
that revealed it could be weeks, not days, before he could play
again.
Even then, Ferry said, he would worry about "risking something
more dangerous" ha...
