PETERS, Howard Samuel Howard Samuel Peters, 88, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Howard was born December 17, 1915, in Floyd, Va. to Samuel Evans Peters and Della Mae Underwood Peters. Farmer, musician, businessman and cattle owner, he was a man who lived life large. While in his teens, he helped build the Blue Ridge Parkway. After marrying Hazel Hale in 1937, he farmed for seven years before moving to Roanoke. Everyone in Cave Spring knew of the H.S.
