HICKS HONORED BY ROANOKE CHAMBER, KIWANIS

Officer Jason Hicks of the Roanoke Police Department wasn't trying to be a hero when he started following a suspect in a shooting. He was just doing his job.

But Hicks' quick thinking may have saved a baby's life, and it certainly resulted in the baby's quick recovery and the nabbing of a carjacking suspect. For that he was selected Officer of the Month for March 2003 by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke.
