KITES PAINT CLOUDY SKIES AT FAMILY FESTIVAL

Some flew. Some dived and twisted. If you wanted them rainbow
striped or wanted airplanes, dolphins, sharks or eagles - you had
them. Even Barbie danced in the gray, cloudy skies.
Imaginations soared Saturday as kids and adults maneuvered spools
of string to get their kites, some with 10-foot tails, off the ground
at Green Hill Park in Roanoke County. It was a somewhat difficult
task when winds were only 5 mph. Optimum flying wind speed is 10 to
15 mph.
Anyone care?
Of course not.
