Q: Could you find out information on displaying yellow ribbons? I've heard that displaying red, white and blue ribbons means that you support the troops and the cause, while yellow ribbons mean that you support the troops, but not the cause. No one wants to be offensive and we want to do the right thing.

A: This question has bigger implications than you might think.

If the yellow ribbon just means "come home safe" then that's a pretty neutral statement. But if it means that you support or do not support the war, then it could become a political statement.
