Radford coach Norman Lineburg paced on the sidelines with 1:05
remaining. How did this happen? Suddenly, this once-lopsided game was
in doubt.
The fans at Bobcats Stadium rose to their feet as George Wythe
prepared for a 4th-and-10 play on their own 42-yard line. Each member
of Lineburg's staff waved his arms wildly, directing the Bobcats into
the proper defensive positions.
Wythe quarterback Grant Throckmorton dropped back to pass. He
zipped a ball toward a receiver near the sideline.
Caught? Yes, but out of bounds. The game belonged to Radford.
