It must be the nature of basketball that you can win 23 games and sport a success rate of .884 and still end the season wondering why you don't feel better.

George Wythe's Maroons were left in a melancholy mood after another exemplary season ended with a 69-48 loss to Honaker in the state Group A quarterfinals Saturday night before an overheated and standing-room-only gallery at Castlewood High School.

"I'd like to end every season 23-3," George Wythe coach Al Copenhaver said. "But we did end this one on a down note."
