BARTER ANNOUNCES FUND DRIVE

Barter Theatre is taking steps to ensure its financial stability with a $7,750,000 fund drive announced Friday at a luncheon in the main theater auditorium.

The drive has already raised more than $2 million, including a $750,000 gift from King Pharmaceuticals of Bristol, Tenn. J. Thomas Fowlkes, vice president of the Barter board and chairman of its campaign cabinet, said the goal is to complete the rest of the drive in 18 months.
