Shooting news hits hard at tech school; City student 'critical' with head wound

An 18-year-old shot early Sunday remained in critical condition Monday while two other victims from separate shootings were recovering. Johnny Walker of New Haven would have started his senior year at Eli Whitney Technical High School in Hamden at month's end. Instead, he's at Yale-New Haven Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

News hit hard there Monday.

"His aspiration was to become a plumber with his brother, as a partner," said John Mansolf, a plumbing and heating instructor at the school.
