The Hamden Notables Committee has selected five outstanding residents to receive the Hamden Notables Awards for 2006. The Notables' distinguished volunteer service to the community encompasses service within such organizations as the Hamden's Woman's Club, Hamden Regional basketball teams, the Friends of the Hamden Library and the Library Planning Advisory Committee, the Hamden Human Services Commission, the Jewish Historical Society of Greater New Haven, Birthright, Columbus House, the Red Cross with local blood drives, and in other capacities such as starting an after-school program with ...
