Herstal shoots down city threat

Herstal Group, the Belgian parent company of U.S. Repeating Arms
Co., has rejected a set of demands by Mayor John DeStefano Jr., who
claims the company owes at least $17.6 million to the city, the
International Association of Machinists and Science Park Development
Corp. In a letter received by the city Tuesday, Herstal Group
Chairman and CEO Philippe Tenneson wrote that Herstal is
"disappointed by the approach and tone which you have adopted in
formulating your proposal."
